BILLS PASSED AND DROPPED.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 11. The following is a synopsis of the business transacted by the House of Representatives, and of Bills passed and dropped during the session:— Ninety-nine public Bills received the Royal Assent, 43 were dropped, and 2 were reserved for signification of His Majesty's pleasure. Thirty-six local Bills were passed, and 6 dropped. Two private Bills received the Royal Assent.
Four hundred and eighty-one petitions from Europeans and 180 from Maoris were presented. The H juse sat on 59 days, 419 hours 24 minutes before midnight, and 57 hours 19 minutes after midnight, or an average of 8 hours 6 minutes daily. Ministers were asked 816 questions, and 1,137 entries were made in journals.
