THE MONEY MARKET.
In an article dealing with the money market, the "New Zealand Trade Review"' remarks that in New Zealand the value of imports has risen to an excess over that of exports, whereas in Australia there is still a margin of exports over imports of over £15,000,000. Still, the movements are in the same direction, thus increasing the demands that are made upon the banks. The "Review" comments that what is needed throughout Australasia is a reduction in the volume of imports, an increase in exports, and a cessation of local borrowing by the Government and local governing bodies.
