SMALL BIRD NUISANCE.
The South Wairarapa Fruit Growers' Association has had a very good year, and their efforts in coping with the small bird nuisance. have been very successful. At the annual meeting of the Association, on Saturday last, the Treasurer (Mr Tho3. E. Kempton) reported that the number of qggs and birds received by the Association for the year ending August Ist, 1908, was as follows: — Eggs: Thrushes eggs, 15,320; blackbirds eggs, 5,072; white eyes eggs, 59; minahs eggs, 55; total number of eggs, 20,506. ; Nestlings, 1,473. Grown birds, 977. Grand total, 22,956.
