SHEARERS ACCOMMODATION BILL.
CONDEMNED BY MASTERTON FARMERS' UNION. A special meeting of tne executive of the Masterton Farmers' Union was held in the A. and P. Association offices on Saturday afternoon, when the Shearers Accommo iation Bill was discussed. Mr W. J. Welch presided, and there were also present Messrs Perry, D. McGregor junr., R. F. Beetham, Bland Kayncr, W. L. Falconer, D. W. Foreman, D. McKenzio and J. Bourke The Chairman said he believed the Bill was quite unnecessary, and was wanted neither by the shearers themselves, nor the employers. He thought tho Government's efforts would have been better directed in providing for more suitable accommodation of a permanent nature, for its ballast pit employees, than in worrying about such a temporary matter as was dealt with by the Bill. Other speakers were Messrs Falconer, Foreman and McKenzie. Tt was finally decided, unanimously, to ask the members for Masterton and YVairarapa to oppose the Bill.
