PAHIATUA, September 19
The »nriual ball given by Miss Warren and her dancing class was held in the Drill Hall last night. The Hall was tastefully dressed with bunting. About 200 puniis and their friends and iclatioiis weie present. The pupild gave* exhibitiors of dancing, the most notable of which was the Indian bell dance given by ten childien.
At the opening sale of pigs for the season to-day, at the mart, there was a good yarding, and the attendance was good. Competition was keen, cbnsequently good prices ruled. Weaners brought 14s to 16s 6d, slips 18s, stores, according ,to size and condition, 21s to i 6s. The weether, which yesterday was cold and showery, was to-day the reverse, being warm, bright and calm.
