UNNECESSARY TALK.

The Hon. Wi Pere made a protest in the Legislative Council on Friday at the time wasted by Councillors in unnecessary talk instead of coming straight to a point. He likened their procedure to a man walking round a tree in ever-decreasing circles until at last he bumped into it. Ths talk was only to annoy and get members wild and then take advantage of their annoyance. If they wanted to talk there was no necessity to devote all their eloquence to one subject. There was plenty of new business to transact, and o'i which their eloquence could be better used.
