THE COMING ELECTIONS.
Unless the farmers of Canterbury and that large proportion of towndwellers whose prosperity depends directly upon that of the farmers wish to see the Government strengthened in their Socialistic tendencies they must, in the time remaining to them, do all in their power to promote the return of Opposition candidates, says the Christchurch '' Press.'' The danger confronting the country is a real one, but it can be met if the antiSociahsti will rouse themselves and put some of the enthusiasm in their campaign that the Socialists
and the would-be Socialists put into,] theirs. Where no Opposition candidates are already announced efforts should be made to induce good men to come out, and in all the constituencies the work of organisation should be taken up vigorously. Two months hence it will be too late.
