FIRE ON A STEAMER.
QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED. Received September 4, 8.30 a.m. COLOMBO, September 3. A fire was discovei'ed in the No 3. hold of the steamer Roon, irom Sydney, while lying at Colombo. It was quickly extinguished, but not before it had damaged sheepskins, copra, and plumbago that were among the cargo.
