FOREST FIRES IN CALIFORNIA.
VALUABLE TREES DESTROYED. Received September 4, 9 a.m. NEW YORK, September 3. The forest fires have reached the mammoth groves of sequoia trees at Calaveras, in California. There is little hope of saving them. One of the largest has already been destroyed.
