SAILING VESSEL WRECKED. TWENTY PERSONS DROWNED. Received September 3, 9 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 2. The sailing vessel Amazon, laden with coal, was wrecked in Swansea Bay. Twenty out of a crew of twentyeight were drowned. The drowning men made desperate struggles to save themselves, their efforts being watched by thousands of people ashore, who were unable to render help. EXCURSION STEAMER AGROUND. WOMEN AND CHILDREN RESCUED. LONDON, Sept. 2. On account of storms in the Channel there have been many wrecks and exciting rescues. The excursion steamer Queen, with 160 passengers, broke her steering gear, and grounded on a sand-bank at Selsey Bill on the Sussex coast. Seas weie sweeping the electa, arid life-belts were terved out to eight women and three children, who were thrown into the lifeboatmen's arms. This was at midnight. The men passengers were rescued in the morning. A YACHT CAPSIZES. SIX WOMEN AND ONE MAN DROWNED. NEW YORK, Sept. 2. A yacht capsized in a squall in Penobscot Bay, Maine, U.S.A. Six women and one man were drowned.
