BRITAIN AND JAPAN.
JUBILEE OF A TREATY. Received August 27, 9 a.m. LONDON, August 26. To-day is the jubilee of the first treaty between Great Britain and Japan. "The Times" makes special friendly comments.
It was 50 years ago on Wednesday since the Treaty of Jedo, under which Japan was opened to British commerce, was signed.
