AUSTRALIAN CARNIVAL. NEW ZEALAND BEATS QUEENSLAND. Received August 25, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 25. At the Australian Jubilee carnival, New Zealand (6 goals and 12 behinds) defeated Queensland (4 goals and 11 behinds). The New Zealanders played the more skilful game.
The Wanganui representative team which is to play Wairarapa tomorrow, on the Showgrounds, will airive by the Napier express train this afternoon. A considerable amount of interest is being taken in the match, as a keen contest is anticipated.
