It is satisfactory to find that settlers aro 'maintaining a vigilant crusade against the rabbit evjl. It is only by continued and combined effort that the nuisance can be abated, and if the present activity among local farmers continues the complete extermination of the prolific scourge is within measurable distance. There should, however, be no interregnum in an important district like this at poisoning time for Departmental Inspectorfc. A successor to Mr Halligan is what enterprising settlers are asking, and what they should have, as what, is the use of their spending large amounts in poisoning if a slothful neighbour harbours rabbits unmolested on his property?
