MR GILRUTH'S DEPARTURE.
It was pleasant to see that such a representative meeting of a representative Association as the Masterton A. and P. Association-took advantage of the opportunity afforded them yesterday afternoon of passing a resolution regarding the departure of Mr J. A. Gilruth, Chief Govern ment Veterinarian. Throughout the Dominion, press and public alike are deploring the fact that mch a capable official should be tempted away from the service of the Dominion. Mr D. McGregor, junr., was quite correct when he stated that New Zealand wis lagging behind in m:my scientific matters, which affect particularly the interests of farmers. Mr Gilruth's popularity is apparently a great deal more widespread than even his most ardent admirer., iai agincd.
