A. AND P. ASSOCIATION ELECTION.
The members of the Masterton A. and P. Association have indeed a pleasant task to perform this week, the only alloy being that out of su'h a splendid selection of our district's best farmers and commercial men nominated for office on the General Committee three will have to be surely regretfully—declined. It is gratifying to cee that such a sterling class of settler is keenly interested in the development of the Associ ition, and it is almost a pity, thut the rales when revised recently were not ! amended to allow of the whole of the present nominees being returned. No doubt there would even tlien have been a surplusage of candidates, and possibly it/is better to have such. It is to be noted that since the Association declared emphatically for progress there has been such a revival of interest in its welfare that leading settlers who previously only gave moral support are now offering their personal assistance. The annual meeting on Thursday next should .be remembered as a day on which was elected the strongest General Committee the Association has evur had the pleasure of returning.
