Carruthers addreased the Australasian Chamber of Commerce, yesterday, on the position and resources of New South Wales. Sir John Cockburn presided. Sir J. M. Carruthers, spirited defence of Australian finance, claimed that the whole of the interest on the public debt was being paid by the net earnings of th? public works.
