PREFERENCE TO BRITAIN.
Received July 16, 12.43 a.m. OTTAWA, Julv 15. Several Conservatives in the Dominion House of Commons urge tnat preference to Britain is useless, and asked if it could be withdrawn as a retaliation for Britain's embargo on Canadian cattle. The Hon. W. S. Fielding replieJ: "We could, but I think it would be unwise."
