A DISTRESSING ACCIDENT.

BY TELEGItAPH-r-PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, July J5. A very distressing accident occurred in School road, oft" Crescent road, St. Albans, this morning. A little girl named Gibbons, about five years of age, was playing in front of the fire, when her clothing caught alight, and in a few moments ahe was enveloped in flames. Dr. Gerald Russell was called in, but found the little girl in a very pitiable condition. She was shockingly burned all about the body, her right arm being practically charred. The doctor bandaged the little sutt'erer, and alleviated her as much as possible, and then removed her to the hospital in his motor cur The child is in a very critical condition, and it is feared that her terrible injuries may have a fatal termination.
