MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The Trustees of the Masterton Hospital held their monthly meeting yesterday. There were present:—Messrs J. B. Keith (chairman), R. Browi-, J. C. Ewington, M. J. H. Jackson, P. W. H. Rummer, W. Harris and J. •J. Mead. { The Treasurer reported as follows: —Balance at last meeting, £22 12s 2d; receipts since, £350 17s; disbursements, £316 14s 6d; balance at date, £ll 109 4d. The Trustees decided to write to the District Hospital Board pointing -out that no arrangement had yet been made with the hankers to allow of the Trustees having an overdraft, an arrangement which the Board had sanctioned by resolution. The Hospital diary was read, and -showed that 31 patients were in the institution at last meeting; 27 had been admitted since; 30 had been discharged, leaving 28 remaining in the hospital. The Inspector-General of Hospitals (Df. Valintine) wrote approving of the Trustees'action in declining to take in a case of epilepsy. It was unanimously decided to in•crease the remuneration of the nurses in the fever ward of the hospital. The Secretary was authorised to take proceedings to recover cutstanding patient's fees. The>£rustee3 confirmed the charge •of £2' M per week made to an ex,patient.
