Henri Rochette, a Parisian company promoter, was arrested on March 26th on charges of theft, the arrest causing a great sensation in financial circles in Paris. M. Rochette was associated with financial undertakings whose total capital exceeded £1,500,000, and it is alleged that this amount was inflated by speculation to as much as £8,000,000. The charge against him was that of having floated bogus companies.
