ACCUSED SENTENCED,
Received June 29, 9.59 p.m.. CETINJE, June 29. Of the fifty-two persons arrested in connection with the recent plot at Cetinje, six have been sentenced to death, three to imprisonment for life, twenty-seven ( including live former State Ministers) to terms of imprisonment ranging from six to twenty years. Two were discharged.
In November 150 Montenegrins, many of them belonging to influential families, were arrested in Cetinje, capital of Montenegro, on a charge of high treason and disloyalty to the reigning family. A sensation was caused by statements made at the State trial at Cetinje of 52 of the arrested persons. A Bosnian journalist named Najtic testified that some bombs which had been seized came from Servia, and were intended to assassinate Prince Nicholas of Montenegro. They were manufactured in the State Arsenal at Kraguyevats, on the recommendation of the Crown Prince of Servia, with King Peter's cognisance. The witness stated that he participated in the manufacture of the bombs. He then revealed the plot to the Montenegrin authorities.
M. Nastic's allegations against the Servian Crown Prince were subsequently officially contradicted.
