THANKSGIVING SERVICE AT ST. PAUL'S.

The thanksgiving service at St. Paul's wa? stately and impressive though there was studied simplicity. The Lord Mayor, the Sheriff, and 0,000 delegates were present. The bishops wore their convocation robes.
The Archbishop of Canterbury briefly reminded the people that they must not look for the coming of a <Vw colossal men t'j be patterns and champions of a good life, but the Church must valiantly, persistently, and hopefully strive to mend what is crooked, ignorant, and amiss in the world.
The bishops presented freewill offerings from the dioceses, amounting to £333,208— England and Wales contributing £257,122, Scotland £5,599, Ireland £3,939, the Army £394. English and colonial dioceses £63,695, and American dioceses £14.055.
