DISEASED CATTLE.
"A SCANDALOUS PRACTICE." HY TKI.KORAI'U — J'RKHR ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, June 16. Commenting on a case heard in the Police Court to-day, Mr Kettle, S.M., said a practice had grown up of sending cattle suspected of being diseased to aaleyards, not for the purpose of sale, but that they might be examined by an inspector and passed or condemned. It was a scandalous practice, and he was surprised that it had been permitted. As this was the first case of the kind, he imposed only a nominal penalty.
