HOUSE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.

AUCKLAND, June 7. During a heavy thunder storm on Friday, a house at Mt. Roskili, occupied L>y W. Pegler, was struck by lightning, which 10; ablaze to an outhouse. The flames were extinguished, but part of the outhouse was demolished. A chimney of the,house itself in which the family were assembled was thrown to the ground. The lightning passed through a room and out of the side of the window, and scoopeda large hole in the gravel outside. Peglar's youngest daughter had a narrow escape, having vacated a seat in front of the fireplace just before the chimney fell.
