SUDDEN DEATH.

WELLINGTON, June 6. Thomas Johnson Drake, Sergeant of the Police, expired suddenly in Doctor Ventry Smith's surgery, which is attached to the chemist shop of H. C. Hemus, at noon, to-day. At the conclusion of a Court case, about half past eleven, the Sergeant compained of a pain in the heart, and went shortly after to consult a doctor. He had only been in the surgery a minute or so when he suddenly placed his hands over his heart, and with the words "I'm going" fell instantly dead. He leaves a wife and seven children.
