MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. The General Committee of the Masterton A.,.and: Pi Association met on Saturday afternoon. Present — Messrs J. D. Cruickshank (chairman), D. McGregor, junr., W. H. Buick, O. Cooper, ' K.J. Dagg, C. E. Daniell, R. Gray, E.Harper, R. Johnstone, 1. P. Lett, VV. McKenzie, Jos. Morris, A. J., Percy, J. P. Perry, Wm. Perry, A. G. Pilmer.i Bland Rayner, G. Shaw, J. Strang, G. C. Summerell, J. P. Heckler, (Mangamahoe). RESIGNATIONS. Nine resignations were received and accepted, providing those resigning were financial. DONATIONS. Mr Paul Hunter, of Porangahau, who judged the dogs at last Show, returned -his cheque for expenses as judge, making the sum a donation to the association. It was resolved to thank Mr Hunter heartily for his generous action. A letter Was received from Messrs Quibell Brothers', Sydney agent .(Mr J. Mackenzie) making the offer uf a sterling silver challenge cup for most points in purebred sheep, the cup to be won twice in succession, or three times at intervals, in order to become the absolute properly of the owner. The offer wa3 accepted with thanks.
GROUND COMMITTEE
The following were present at,the meeting of the Ground Committee: —Messrs D. McGregor (chairman), Wm; McKenzie, C. E. Daniell and J. Morris. A request from Mr D. E. Parton, honorary secretary of the Mast2rton Football Club, for a refund of £1 on the occasion of football matches played ,at Easter, .w.as declined. ; The Mastetton Fostball Club applied for the use of ; the grounds every Thursday afternoon', as from the 14th instant to 13.th August.—lt was resolved to make a 'charge of 10s for practice matches, and £1 for matches where a charge for admission was made. It was resolved to make the same charges as last year in connection with the Wairarapa Rugby Union. The Committee resolved to ask Mr Snell to act as caretaker at the new Showgrounds, and to advertise that trespassers would be prosecuted.
FINANCE COMMITTEE.
The Finance Committee met in the morning." Present —Messrs G. C. Summerell (in the chair), J. B. Moodie, 0. C. Cooper, D. McGregor, junr., and J. D. Cruickshank. The financial statement shewed that a dr balance of £264 15s 9d remained at bank. Accounts amounting to £22 13s lOd were passrd for payment. Messrs I. Sylces and D. McGregor, junr,, wrote enclosing a list of donors to a fund to pay for the erection of all buildings on the new grounds, and suggesting that a special committee be set up to canvass for further donations. From.Mr J. McGregor, advising that he had been approached in reference to the canvass for funds to defray cost of new grounds. He thought the matter somewhat irregular, and would suggest that a special committee be set up to do as required. The following resolution, proposed by Mr Cruickshank, was carried, that in lieu of voluntary donations, it be a recommendation to the General Committee to issue debentures free of interest for the term. ')f ten years, it to be optional for the Society to redeem the said debentures or pay interest thereon at the end of five years. The secretary was instructed to offer the Caledonian Society the use of the Association's offices as from let January last at £lO per annum.
