Messrs Dalgcty and Company, Limited, Wellington, have received the following cable messages from their London house under date of the 23rd instant:—Butter: Market firm. The Copenhagen Official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ending 18th inat amounted to 94,000 cwt., as-compared with 80,000 cwt. for the corresponding week of 1907; showing an increase of 14,000 cwt. Frozen Meat: There is a fair demand for all descriptions. Since our last advices prices for mutton and lamb arc |d per lb lower. Beef: Hind quarters, 8&d per lb lower. Prices for iorequarters of beef are Jol per lb higher.
