FOOTBALL.
N.Z. PROFESSIONAL TEAM. Received April 14, 10.9 a.m. SYDNEY, April 14. The Rugby League tendered the New Zealand professional footballers a reception in the Town Hall. Wright, the New Zealand captain, replying for the visitors, said they had learned many lessons during their tour. One was that the old , amateur Rugby game was not the only game in the world. He was sure the public would flock to see the new League game. He did not think there was a player in England who could kick goals like Messenger.
A match will be played on Saturday onithe Showrounds between the Masterton and Athletic (Wellington) seniors.
