ELEVATION LAME. BY TKLKOUAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION' Received April 14, 9.20 p.m. SYDNEY, April 14. Regret was expressed in sporting circles when the news was circulated that Elevation waa lame, and that those who anticipated a great equine battle between the New Zealander and Mountain King were likely to be doomed to disappointment. Elevation had done a ding-dong mile with Castaway. The latter had a couple of lengths advantage at the start, but Elevation was a nack in front at the finish in lmin 45secs. The New Zealander was found to be lame after the canclusion of the gallop.
