THE SYDNEY STRIKE. A SETTLEMENT. Received April 14, 10,9 a.m. SYDNEY, April 14. The strike has been settled. The Seamen's Union has agreed to the coastal shipowners having a month in which to arrange for all non-union crews being brought together into six steamers. Meanwhile the unionists and non-unionists will work together on vessels. TROUBLE AT NEWCASTLE. Received April 14, 10.9 a.m. [ SYDNEY, April 14. Trouble has cropped up at Newcastle, where 33 out of 38 non-union-ists employed by the Newcastle and Hunter River Company struck on the ground that under the new agreement they were to be paid casual rates instead of weekly wages. Eleven returned to work, and the places of the otl ers were filled by unionsts.
