MONARCHISTS SWEEP THE COUNTRY. Received April 7, 9.22 p.m. LISBON, April 7. Three persons were killed in the riot at Lisbon yesterday. The police fired a volley after they had discharged a round of blank cartridges. Monarchists swept the ...country. Only six Republicans were elected, including four at Lisbon. Crowds caused disorder at some of the polling stations in Lisbon. In endeavouring to quell the disturbances the police fired on the mobs.
