JAPAN AND CHINA.
BOYCOTT OF JAPANESE GOODS. Received April 1, 11A4 a.m. CANTON, March 31. As a result of the boycott-, of Japanese goods in Canton and elsewhere, the British Minister (Sir John Jordan) is going to Canton to interview the Viceroy on Japan's behalf. On March 9th a monster uneeting of Chinese, held at Canton, resenting the release of the Japanese steamer Tatsu Maru, which had been seized by the Chinese authorities at Macao, on the ground that it was supplying arms to Chinese rebels, resolved to boycott Japanese manufactures. Chinese merchants in New South Wales also propose to take unsted action to boycott the goods of Japanese firms. Arrangements have ' been completed for the establishment of a line of steamships, to be owned exclusively by Chinese, to trade between Hongkong and Sydney.
