A BYE-ELECTION. LIBERAL SET-BACK. Received March 26, 9 a.m. LONDON, March 25. The by-election for the Camberwell Division of Peckham rendered ;necessary by the death of Mr Charles Goddare! Clarke (Liberal), caused the greatest excitement for many years. ; It Mr Gotch (Unionist Tariffite) 4,970 iMr Gautrey (Liberal) 4,476 CHEERS IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. EXCITED UNIONISTS. deceived March 26, 9 a.m. LONDON, March 25. 'While the President of the Board <of Trade, the Right Hon. D. LloydGeorge, was speaking to a fiscal reform resolution in connection with unemployment, moved by Mr E. A. Goulding, member for Worcester, ' news of the Peckham election result was received. It raised roar after roar of cheers from the Unionist benches. Unionists stood excitedly waving hats and handkerchiefs, and shouting "Resign! You will be unemployed directly." The debate was ultimately adjourned.
