COLLISION AT NEWCASTLE.

Received February 28, 11.10 p.m. SYDNEY, February 28.

The steamer Darius, while shifting her berth, was caught by the tide and flood waters at Newcastle aqd swung down on the barqUentine Jane L. Sansford, which was about to sail 'for San Francisco, and seriously damaged her. The Darius then drifted ashore on a rocky bottom. She is expected to float off during the next tide.
