THE EDWARD MEDAL.
AWARDED TO TWO MINERS
Received February 28, 8.45 a.m. i LONDON, February 27. His Majesty King Edward personally presented the Edward medal to Chandler and Everson, a Yorkshire and Welsh miner, respectively, ' for conspicuous gallantry in rescuing life.
In October last, King Edward instituted a medal to be awarded to those who endanger their, own lives in saving, or attempting to save, the lives of others from peril in mines-or quarries within the British Dominion.
