One official estimated that the Customs losses in the various States totalled £IOO,OOO per annum. CASE OF PLAGUE IN SYDNEY. Received February 27, 11.38 p.m. SYDNEY, February 27. A lad named O'Brien, working in Drutt street, Sydney, has been attacked with the plague. AN ARCHDEACON'S RESIGNATION. Received February 27, 11.38 p.m. SYDNEY, February 27. . Archdeacon Abbott, of Tamworth, is sending-in his resignation to the Bishop of the Diocese. He has pointed out that in five years he has received £1,952 from the parish, and expended on its work the sum of £1,750. He had been unable to save any money out of which to replace the necessary things which after five years' wear and tear were almost worn out.
