WOODVILLE SHOW.

BY TELEGRAM PRESS ASSOCIATION". WOODVILLE, February 26. The sixteenth annual Show of the Bush Districts Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on the Woodville racecourse to-day.

Owing to the unprecedentedly dry season we have had there was a considerable falling off in the number of entries in all classes. The show of cattle was, in the circumstance, a very fair one, while the sheep and horses, though few in number, showed that stock of these classes had not suffered so very much by the shortage of feed. No doubt the animals exhibited came off the best, pastures, and therefore the condition of stock throughout the districts cannot be gauged by that of the animals which appeared in the pens and Show ling this afternoon. The pigs also were a very good lot, but dogs and poultry formed a very poor exhibition. A section in which a good deal of interest was taken was that devoted to school children's work, for which a large number of entries had been received.

The weather was very fine and the attendance large. In the Shorthorn class, W. H. James took first prize with his bull Brunswick Boy, calved prior to Ist July, 1905. C. Woodley practically swept the board in the Ayrshire sections, in which P. J. Quirk secured three seconds; and in the Jerseys or Alderneys, first prizes were secured by J. S. Nelson, M. Lyons, P. Hunter, S. R. Lancaster, Mr Nelson taking the prize for rtiampion bull and Mr Lancaster the prize for the champion heifer.

In dairy cattle, Messrs Quirk and Lancaster took all the first prizes. Among sheep, R. E. Beattie was the most successful exhibitor in the Lincoln sections securing six first prizes and the championships for both ram and ewe. The only other first prize taker was H. Gaisford. In Border Leicesters, P. Neilsen took six first prizes and both championships, being the only first prize taker in this class.

S. R. Lancaster took eight first prizes and both championships for English Leicesters. A. Harding secured eight first prizes and both championships for Romney Marsh, and S. R. Lancaster eight first prizes and both championships for Southdowns. The first prizes in the crossbred sections were secured by W. E. C. Tylee, H. Gaisford, A. Harding, W. H. Nelson, and W. G. Aitken, and in the fat sheep sections Messrs Tylee, Gaisford, Nelson, R. H. Todd, and. Cyril Aitken all took first prizes. E. White secured nine first prizes and the only championship that was awarded for pigs, ths only other first prize takers being R. Charmley and J. H. Turner. •
