MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
MONTHLY MEETING.
The Masterton Hospital Trustees met yesterday. Present —Messrs J. B. Keith, W. Harris, W. Fisher, F. W. H. Kummer, H. J. O'Le&ry, M. J. Jackson, R. Brown, and J. C. Ewington. The Treasurer's report showed the balance at last meeting to be £BBI 16s 3d; receipts since, £590 14s; expenditure, £739 12s 8d; leaving a credit balance of £732 17s 7d.
The hospital .diary was read, and showed that 17 patients were in the institution at last meeting, 38 were admitted since, 28 had been discharged, and 5 had died, leaving 22 remaining in the institution. Dr Archer Hoslnng wrote stating that several matters needed attending to at the hospital, and new articles of various descriptions were required. The matter was referred to a committee with power to act. Discussion of the new Hospitals Bill was deferred until next meeting. Tenders were received for the erection of a mortuary and various out- . buildings for the hospital. Some d\s-{ cussion ensued as to whether it was advisable to proceed with one part of the work and not the other, as the funds in hand were insufficient. A motion by Mr Fisher, that the tenders be declined, and the matter held over until after next meeting of the District Hospital Board, was lost. Finally the tender of Mr J. Tait, at £285, was accepted. A notice of motion by Mr Kummer, that the future meetings of the Trustees be held at the Hospital, was carried.
