A DAUGHTER'S DELUSION
MELBOURNE, February 22.
The body of Mary M'Lean, aged 89, was found lying in her residence, where she had lived with her daughter, aged 53. Enquiry revealed the fact that the old lady died about a week ago, but that her daughter would not allow any one to enter the room.[as she declared that her mother was quietly sleeping, and must not bi disturbed.

Madame Melba, the famous singer, who has been on a visit to Australia, has sailed for Europe.

Received February 23, 4.43 p.m. SYDNEY, February 23. There was a south-easterly gale and heavy rain through the night. The rain continued to-day.
