EXPLOSION AT A COLLIERY.

FOURTEEN PERSONS KILLED.

LONDON, February 21

An explosion at the Glebe colliery, in the village of Washington, killed fourteen out of fifteen persons in the mine at the time.

Great damage was done to the mine, there being many x falls in the workings. The explosion occurred in the night. There are usually five hundred persons employed in the daytime.
