BY TKLEOEAPH—FBESS ASSOCIATION. INVERCARGILL, January 27. The wool sales opened to day. There was good competition for everything ■'fSccept bellies and pieces, and coarse and inferior bellies and pieces were * very low. Fine crossbred was about a farthing better than in Dunedin, according to quality. The top pricfi realised was llfd. For medium crossbred competition was good, at from seveupence to eightpence. About one quarter of the fine wool offered was passed in. The total quantity catalogued was 1,200 bales.
