WALES DEFEATS ENGLANDJiY TELECUiAPH I'KKBS ASSOCIATES. Received January 20, 8-30 a.iiu LONDON, January 13. England's and Wales' fifteens met yesterday under Rugby rules, and a very level and exciting game was witnessed, though the contest was decided in a fog. The Welshmen were eventually victorious the teams leaving the field with the scores: — Wales 28 England 18 (La*t season. Scotland, at the bottom of the poll in 1904-05, jumped into first place in the international contests, with three wins, Wales being second, two wins, one loss; win, two, losses; while England won 'the "woodtn spoon," having failed to secure a single victory).
The "Dunedin Star's" correspondent with the New Zealand professional football team writes under date of December 3rd, 1907:—"So far as the financial success of our tour is concerned, we are able to make our minds easy, as a rough balance-sheet presented to the members on Monday, dated .November 30th, showed that, after paying back the money that members subscribed, and allowing ior a second-class passage back to New Zealand,' each member was entitled to a little over £Bl, which, adJed to the .£9 we received as pocket money, shows that each man has made a profit of £9O since leaving home. A match has also been a flanged against a Northern Union team, b> be played at Chelsea, London, on February Bth, and we have luid several iwjuit'ie u for reserved seats aire idy."
