Charles Turner, a one-time famous bowler, playing against a scratch team, took nine wickets for 22 runs. (C. T. B. Turner, born in 1862, for some years represented New South Wales and Australia, and was known amongst followers of cricket as "Turner the Terror," on account of his bowling. In 1888, in firstclass cricket, he took 314 wickets, and in 1890, 215). It is understood that Featherston will forfeit their match with Masterton A next Saturday, on account of the difficulty in getting a team to. travel to Masterton. An effort is being made to get Featherston and Carterton to play a match next Saturday. If this is arranged, Masterton A will play Carlton B and Carlton A will play Masterton B.
