ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROWNING ACCIDENT. NEW PLYMOUTH, January 8. A young man, named Robert Firmston, was drowned at Awakino to-day. He was bathing with his brother, and it is thought he was seized with cramp. The other man endeavoured to save him, but he was twice dragged under, and had to relinquish the task, reaching the shore himself in an exhausted state. Firmston was a dingle man, aged twenty-five years.
