• FOUND DEAD. BY TELEGRAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION. WAIHI, January 6. John H. Sains, licensee of the Whangamata Hotel, was found dead in his bedroom; *At the-inquest .the evidence showed that the deceased had taken an overdose of chlorodyne owing to financial and domestic worries. The deceased was sixty year 3 of age and held the New Zealand war medal. FOUND DROWNED. INGLEWOOD, January 6. The body of Mrs C. Shaw was found in the Waipukuiti river, close to her hubsand's homestead. The deceased left the house while her husband was milking. She was suffering from melancholia. DROWNED WHILE BATHING. MARTON, January 6. Robert Henderson, aged 22 years, of Ohakea, Bulls, was drowned at Parewanui beach, yesterday, whilst bathing in the surf. He was carried out by the breakers. The body has hot yet been recovered.

SUICIDE. CHRISTCHURCH, January 6. i An inquest was held this afternoon touching the death of Thomas Godfrey Bezet, whose body was found on the beach at New Brighton, on ( Sunday morning. The deceased's camping mate, Frederick George Gardner, said that Bezet went to New Brighton on Friday last, and he had then a gun in his possession. He behaved, during his stay at New Brighton, in an excitable) manner, as if he were drunk. He informed witness he was in trouble at Temuka, and that he was leaving the dominion on Monday. He was peculiar in his manner on Saturday night, but he was not under the influence of liquor. He talke 1 a lot to himself. He had previously told witness about a friend who had committed suicide. The jury returned a verdict that the deceased committed suicide whilst of unsound mind.

DUN ED IN, January 6. Donald Ogilvie, staying at the Glasgow restaurant, was accidentally suffocated on Saturday night. TAIHAPE, January 6. A man, named Arthur Thomas, who was employed on a farm at Ohutu, committed suicide by cutting his throat with a razor. WESTPORT, January 6. Mrs Smith, the wife of a wellknown cattle-dealer, was bathing with two younger ladies in shallow water,, but she stepped over a ledge into eight feet of water, and was drowned.
