SHIPPING DIFFICULTIES AT NEWCASTLE. SYDNEY, January 4. The wharf labourers' strike at Newcastle [continues. The strikers demand an increase to one and threepence per hour for day, and one and ninepence for night work. The crews have assisted the permanent wharf hands in slowly discharging arriving vessels.
