LONDON'S MOTOR 'BUSMEN.
A STRIKE. LONDON, January 3. A thousand motor 'busmen struck owing to the employers offering to pay at per number of journeys instead of per day. I THE NEWCASTLE COALMINERS' STRIKE. NINE MINES IDLE. GRAVITY OF THE SITUATION. SYDNEY, January 4. Altogether nine mines have been rendered idle at Newcastle, including Lambton, Burwood, West Wallsend and Northern Extended. The Premier has wired to the president of the Miners' Federation, urging resumption of work, and pointing out that he could not emphasise too strongly the gravity of the situation. Received January 6, 1 am. NEWCASTLE, January 5. There is no change in the position in connection with the collieries. Tomorrow's conference is anxiously awaited.
