MELBOURNE, January 4. The Federal revenue for the halfyear totalled £6,034,683, an increase of £1,202,000. BUTTER EXPORTS. FALLING OFF IN VICTORIAN RETURNS. MELBOURNE, January 4. Oversea butter exports for the year were nearly 3,000,0001b less than in the previous year, the decrease in value being £91,184. MELBOURNE DIVORCE CASE. THE* PETITIONER'S COSTS. MELBOURNE, January 4. The costs of the petitioner in the divorce case, Wallace v. Wallace, and Dr. Strong (husband's petition, in which a decree nisi was granted) amounted to over £l,lOO.
YACHTING ACCIDENT. TWO GIRLS DROWNED. MELBOURNE, January 4. A yacht capsized at Port Philip. Two girls, named Raisbeck and Williams, were drowned. The other occupants, a youth named Slater, was rescued after swimming a mile and a-half. TEMPERANCE CAMPAIGN IN ENGLAND. AN AUSTRALIAN APPOINTMENT. SYDNEY, January 4. The services of Mr Bruntnell, general secretary of the New South Wale 3 Alliance, has bepn secured for the temperance campaign in England.
