Jack Taiaroa, aged 49 years, a member of the first New Zealand Rugby team to visit Sydney, was drowned at Maori Kaik at midnight on the 31st while getting out of a boat on to the wharf. (Taiaroa was generally considered to be the finest three-quarter New Zealand has ever seen.) 11Y TKIVGOISAPII - PItESR ASSOCIATION". Received January 2, 10 a.m. LONDON, January 1. The Scottish Rugby Union does not support the proposed British team's visit to New Zealand, as it considers the visit would be to indirectly strengthen the professional movement. (The British team will leave for New Zealand in April. When the proposal to send a team was first mooted objection was raised by the Scottish Union).
