NEW ZEALAND v. WALES. WALES WIN BY ONE POINT. Received January 2, 9.52 a.m. LONDON, January 1. The New Zealand footballers met th 3 Welsh footballers to-day at Merthyr, and suffered defeat after a very close contest. New Zealand leo at half-time by 8 points to 3. There was an exciting struggle for supremacy in the second moiety. Wales scored two tries, but the winning one was only notched just on the call of time. The game ended : Wales (three tries) 9 New Zealand (one goal, two tries) 8 (On Saturday, the New Zealanders will meet the Hull-Kingston Rovers, at Hull, and on the Bth will play against Cumberlancl,at Worthington.)
